TweetSee your doctor and find out which ar med is best for you most are OTC now I use to use Prilosec that help a lot one day it all just stop no more reflex or mess over three years now
TweetOk so my hole life Iv had problems with acid reflux, heart burn ect... My question is what should I do to combat it? Tums makes it worse and I take an over the counter pill that works to an extent when I take it regularly. Energy drinks, pre workouts all make it 10x worse to the point I have no appetite and I feel sick to my stomach to where I'll actually throw up.

TweetI've had people tell me all kinds of natural methods and such but bottom line the only thing that has really worked for my heartburn is daily Prilosec. My doc said I could stay on it indefinitely which I know some people disagree with but nothing else was working. If you have insurance Id get it prescribed because daily use gets expensive.
TweetI have been on different meds for that from the age of 18. I take Prevecid prescribed ed and as long as I take it I can eat and drink anything I want. I miss a day or 2 and I'm fucked. Nexium was even better but insurance stopped covering it.

TweetYou take a daily probiotic? They can be very helpful. The problem is there are many things that can cause this and as usual docs do not usually bother to help you find the cause but prescribe something instead. Aloe Vera drinks are also very helpful

Tweeti've had that problem with otc products! its true i felt like i had balloon in my chest a scary pain and the protonix worked and i've had any problems yet.
TweetI think drinking a green drinks often seems to help keep the acid down. I drink perfect food every day, it has probiotics in it too. Some people produce more acid. They really need to eat a lot of greens and green drinks to keep alkaline. I also drink chlorella powder several times a day. I get heartburn after eating certain things and I usually eat one tums and it is gone
Tweetok, this is personal experience and may be different for you than it was for me. i had horrible reflux and nothing worked tums and all the other meds they gave me helped at all. so i went to the gastro doc and it turns out the reflux was being caused by not enough acid and not to much. so he suggested organic apple cider vinegar. no problems at all ever since. i also use probiotics also and havent had any issues in years

TweetSounds pretty serious. I have had acid reflux all my life. Pepcide AC & Tums/Gaviscon work great for me. It sounds serious or bothersome enough to go have it checked out. I had an endoscopy yrs back. That would be where I would start.
TweetPepcide, Nexium, Prilosec. Those work pretty good for me. Not all 3 together, but 1 or the other.
